One of my favorite things to do is look through thrift stores and antique stores.
It is very therapeutic for me. There is something about seeing old things that belonged to someone long ago. It reminds me that life is short, and therefore, my problems are not as big or important as they seem.
I thought you might like to see some of the fruit of my therapy sessions.
First up is a lovely painting I found at an antique/flea market last year.
It was painted in 1969. How cool is that?!?!?
I keep it in my closet and the more I look at it, the more I love it! Which is why I always keep my eye out for more.
Finally, this past week, I’ve found another one!
I will be removing the frame and just mounting the canvas on the wall somewhere, with the other one I have. I’d love to find a few more and have a wall full.
I picked up this little set of shelves. I’ll be painting them and hanging them in my 6yo’s room.
My mom puts together little fairy gardens. I wish I had a pic of one to show you. They are usually in a large pot with a few small plants, or flowers, with a little moss or ground cover. Sometimes they have a little gnome statue, a fairy, maybe a little house, or a couple of little critter statues.
So, I just couldn’t resist grabbing every single one of these. They were only a dollar a bag!
Isn’t this a sweet little tea set?
It’s a little hard to see the one on the right. It’s a little porcelain container with a fairy and a couple of mushrooms on top.
Cowboy and a man taking a little siesta 🙂
A couple of porcelain chairs with a kitty and a bird, and a porcelain bowl.
A little clown 🙂
And last, but not least!
A garden gnome!
Here is the view from my chair where I’m typing this, and sipping an iced coffee.
It just started pouring! (Thank you, Lord!)
And the sun is still shining!
I’m off to go find the rainbow!
